Four clean cut young lads who met at school in South Australia and were influenced by their music teacher, cabaret performer Michael Griffiths, have come a long way.
Eleven years on, The 60 Four, as they are known, now tour Australia regularly and appear on cruise ships, playing hits of the ‘60s and ‘70s to appreciative audiences.
And in August 2026, they will be entertaining at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the first time.
I speak of 26-year-old Ben Francis, Jack Conroy, 25, 24-year-old Finnegan Green and Lachlan Williams, 27.

Resplendent in matching outfits, and featuring well-choreographed moves, they harmonise fluently to popular ballads and high-octane classics.
With them is a talented four-piece band (keys, drums, guitar and bass).
Their hour-long repertoire at Hamer Hall included a 15-strong set, featuring signature tunes from Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Beach Boys and The Monkees.
Also in their selection were favourites from The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Leo Sayer, Neil Diamond, The Bee Gees, Tom Jones, ABBA, Johnny O’Keefe and more.

I speak of Sherry, California Girls, I’m a Believer, Can’t Buy Me Love, Let It Be, Bridge Over Troubled Waters and You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.
Then there was Sweet Caroline, Staying Alive, It’s Not Unusual, Does Your Mother Know, Venus, Shout, December 1963 and Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher.
The quartet was distinguished by its youthful enthusiasm, attractive energy, effortless charm and good humour, which immediately won over the crowd.

The powerful falsetto voice that made Frankie Valli a household name was also evident in The 60 Four director Ben Francis. It is something he utilised throughout the performance.
He and the other members of the foursome revelled in the feel-good music that characterised the era and, judging by the reaction, nostalgia remains a big winner.
This is the music of a generation that lives on in The 60 Four.
